Trying to live life with sandy toes and laughter

Sandtoesha yoga retreat in Samana – post trip update

I’m at my treehouse bungalow, cliffside at El Cabito. At the end of 16 days in the DRs gorgeous province of Samana, I reflect on the 7 days spent with the 6 amazing women who opened themselves up to a daily yoga practice that included a physical and emotional journey. These courageous women stepped out of their comfort zones and repeatedly grew, every day.

So full of gratitude right now.

River float through the mangroves to Playa Rincon. Watch out for pirates – they are coming right for us!

One of our daily fruit binges.

Arepitas de Yuca

Salad with Arepitas de Yuca (we got the recipe from chef).

Gerpis our chef was the best – we were never hungry!

Santosha glow after our SandToesHa retreat.

Sending heart chakra love through the circle.

The view from our apartment at Vista Mare. We saw whales out here playing.

Gorgeous private beach at Vista Mare near Samana City.

Some of the ladies on the yoga deck.

One of my favourite beaches was Playa Grande, right in Las Galeras.

This is on our way by boat to Playa Fronton. El Cabito restaurant and our treehouse was up top of this cliff.

Got used to dessert every night. This was chocolate mousse and coconut night.

My view from my Casita’s deck.

Fresh tuna salad for lunch. We had seafood every day.

Sunset view from our dining room.

Chef went all out every day, but especially so on our paella night.

Beautiful stone paths and gardens led us to our individual ocean view Casitas.

One of our daily breakfast feasts.

This is my deck where I’d sit and plan out the next day’s yoga prescription.

Mmmm… ceviche

Can’t get enough of this view.

A little child’s pose and gratitude for this stunning view.

Amazed with you ladies. This is us at Salto del Limon.
