Around the world part 10 – Scotland, Edinburgh

Wow, Edinburgh is awe inspiring. History everywhere. We are staying at a great Airbnb that’s a unesco heritage site. Built in 1725. I can’t sleep because I keep looking out the window of the flat in the wee hours imagining what it used to be like. It doesn’t require much imagination since everything looks the same.

The first shot below is where we are staying (the building on the far left). Out our front door is Princes street and the Scotish National Gallery. Out our back door is the royal mile and Edinburgh Castle.

This is our back door… And the cute little alley to the Royal mile.

Really cool pub decor. Too many to post but here’s a quick snap of the ceiling of one where we had the best sticky toffee pudding.

Worked off some of the pudding and beer by climbing over 200 steps of the Scott Monument.

Sampled some Scotch at the Scotch Museum and determined I’m an Islay fan (I suspected as much), and then walked up to the castle.

Tomorrow we take the train out to St. Andrews.
