We had some last minute flight changes that meant one less day in London and an 18 hour layover at Hammed airport in Doha Qatar. At first I was pleasantly impressed to see that Qatar airways and Doha tourism have teamed up to offer tours into the city for layover passengers without having to worry about the tourist Visa. Unfortunately we got there and were told that even though we flew Qatar Airways we booked through British Airways so we did not qualify for the tour. So points to tourism Doha/Qatar for setting up the tour to bring some of the layover dollars out of the airport into the city but disappointing that it isn’t a little more inclusive.
View of Doha from the airport.
Plan B – We explored the airport shops and art and then we hung out in the airport lounge (free with my credit card membership) and showered/freshened up for our trip to London.
Some of the cool art we found… Large stuffed bunny was surreal and I love the metal men. They are very similar to my tattoo and also functioned as kids play area parks.
Next stop London/England countryside.
Cute artwork😊 Yummy snack too, looks like a very nice airport.
