Our Canadian Girls take home the GOLD…

So proud of my old Winter Guard the Pacificaires. They’ve been around and competing for over 3 decades. We put in some good showings but were never able to break the top echelon. Just sticking around as a player for over 3 decades is a feat not many independent groups have been able to do, but deep down we were all striving for the allusive Gold medal. Congrats to to everyone involved in bringing the Gold home!

Here’s an excerpt from their review:

1st Place – 95.4 – Pacificaires (Surrey, BC, Canada)Oh, Canada, thank you for sending these earthy women from the north. The spectators in the Arena found themselves “Falling Slowly” in love with them. Poised and confident, controlled and strong, they filled the vast space with strength and loveliness, repeating a movement montage of slowly lowering each other to the earth. Graceful movers, solid spinners, strong moments by soloists, strong moments by the ensemble, and a finale flag feature that moved and reshaped and then dissolved into duets of support and grace…the quiet strength and show design sophistication are what put these young women on top tonight. Congratulations on winning the gold medal!

and here’s a clip of the girls getting their medals!
